Sergeant Major Everson Kaaihue enlisted in the Marine Corps on October from Honolulu, HI. Following recruit training and MCT, he reported to Marine Corps Communications Electronics School, Twentynine Palms, CA.
In April of 2002, he reported to 9th Communications Battalion before deploying in support of OEF and OIF I and II.
In January 2006, he reported to Drill Instructor School, MCRD, San Diego, CA. Upon completion, he was assigned to Company L, where he served as a drill instructor and senior drill instructor.
In April 2009, he reported to Headquarters Battery, 10th Marine Regiment, Camp Lejeune, NC where he served as the telecommunications system chief.
In March 2012, he reported to 1st Battalion, 6th Marine Regiment as the telecommunications systems chief where he deployed as a member of the 22nd MEU.
In April 2015 he reported to Prairie View A&M University where he served as the Assistant Marine Officer Instructor, and OCS Sergeant Instructor from 2015-2018.
In June 2018, he reported to Marine Corps Air Ground Combat Center (MCAGCC), Twentynine Palms, CA where he served as the network systems chief with 7th Marine Regiment. Following his promotion to First Sergeant, he reported to Headquarters Battalion, MAGTFTC, and then to 3d Battalion, 4th Marines where he deployed on the 31st MEU.
In December 2021, he reported to 3d Assault Amphibian Battalion. During this assignment, he participated in Bright Star 2023, a Joint Service and multilateral exercise in Egypt.
In December 2023, he was promoted to his current rank and was assigned to Headquarters & Headquarters Squadron, MCAS Miramar.
SgtMaj Kaaihue is currently serving as the CSEL for 1st Battalion 6th Marines.
SgtMaj Kaaihue is a graduate of the Air Force Senior Noncommissioned Officer's Academy and he has an Associates degree from National University, and a Bachelor's degree from Southern New Hampshire University.
His personal awards include the Meritorious Service Medal in lieu of 2nd award, Navy and Marine Corps Commendation Medal in lieu of 3rd award, and the Navy and Marine Corps Achievement Medal in lieu of 3rd award.
