Commanding Officer, 3rd Battalion, 6th Marines
Lieutenant Colonel Mark P. Paige

A native of Long Island, New York, Lieutenant Colonel Paige was commissioned in May 2007 after graduating from Brandeis University.

Upon graduation from the Infantry Officer’s Course, he was assigned to 3d Battalion, 2nd Marines as the India Company Weapons Platoon Commander where he deployed in support of the 22D MEU. Following the deployment, the 22D MEU was recalled and deployed to Haiti in support of humanitarian assistance under Operation UNIFIED RESPONSE. Upon return from Haiti, he was assigned as the 81mm Mortar Platoon Commander where he deployed to Afghanistan in support of Operation ENDURING FREEDOM.

Upon return from Afghanistan, Lieutenant Colonel Paige was assigned to Marine Corps Systems Command as the Project Officer for Tactical Terminal Systems. Following he attended Expeditionary Warfare School and was assigned to 1st Battalion, 8th Marines as the Alpha Company Commander where he deployed in support of the Black Sea Rotational Force. Following that deployment, he was assigned as the Weapons Company Commander where he deployed in support of the Unit Deployment Program.

Following his Company Commander tour, Lieutenant Colonel Paige received orders to PP&O to serve as the Deputy Infantry Advocate. At PP&O, he participated in the SECDEF’s Close Combat Lethality Task Force and the Commandant’s infantry reorganization.

Lieutenant Colonel Paige was then assigned to 1st Battalion, 6th Marines to serve as the Executive Officer. As Executive Officer he led the USMC Task Force in support of the humanitarian assistance mission in Haiti, Operation UNIFIED EFFORT. Lieutenant Colonel Paige received orders to 6th Marine Regiment to serve as the Operations Officer.

Lieutenant Colonel Paige currently serves as the Commanding Officer of 3d Battalion, 6th Marines.
