Sergeant Major Joshua Leblanc

Sergeant Major LeBlanc was born on 1 July 1987 in Honolulu, Hawaii.  He enlisted in the Marine Corps on 10 July 2006.  He attended Recruit Training at the Marine Corps Recruit Depot, San Diego, California. He graduated as the Series Honor Man from Recruit Training and was meritoriously promoted to Private First Class. After graduating Recruit Training, Sergeant Major LeBlanc attended Marine Combat Training at Camp Pendleton, California.  Following the completion of Marine Combat Training, Sergeant Major LeBlanc was ordered to the Combat Service Support School in Camp Lejeune, North Carolina to gain the primary Military Occupational Specialty of 0151. 

In December 2006, Sergeant Major LeBlanc received orders to Marine Attack Squadron 223, 2nd Marine Aircraft Wing, MCAS Cherry Point, North Carolina, where he served as the Squadron Legal Clerk.  In June 2007, he was meritoriously promoted to the rank of Lance Corporal.  In July 2007, Sergeant Major LeBlanc received orders to Marine Medium Helicopter Squadron 261, Camp Lejeune, North Carolina and was attached to and deployed with the 22nd MEU in support of Operation Iraqi Freedom.  In June 2008, Sergeant Major LeBlanc received orders to Marine Aircraft Group 14, MCAS Cherry Point, North Carolina and served as the MAG-14 Legal Chief. In August 2008, Sergeant Major LeBlanc was promoted to the rank of Corporal.  In May 2009, Sergeant Major LeBlanc was the recipient of the Gung Ho award while attending Corporal's Leadership Course at MCAS Cherry Point, North Carolina. Sergeant Major LeBlanc was meritoriously promoted to the rank of Sergeant on 2 August 2009.

In April 2010, Sergeant Major LeBlanc received orders to Drill Instructor School, Class 3-10, Marine Corps Recruit Depot, San Diego, California. After graduating Drill Instructor School, Sergeant Major LeBlanc received orders to Golf Company, 2nd Recruit Training Battalion, where he served as a Drill Instructor, Senior Drill Instructor and Chief Drill Instructor. In November 2011, Sergeant Major LeBlanc was the recipient of the Gung Ho award while attending Sergeant's Course at Marine Corps Air Ground Combat Center  - 29 Palms, California. On July 2nd 2012, Sergeant Major LeBlanc was meritoriously promoted to the rank of Staff Sergeant. In November 2013, Sergeant Major LeBlanc attended Career Course, Staff Noncommissied Officer Academy at Camp Pendleton, California. 
 
In February 2014, Sergeant Major LeBlanc received orders to U.S Marine Corps Forces Special Operations Command (MARSOC) where he served as the Command Deck SNCOIC and Headquarters Company Gunnery Sergeant. In February 2016, Sergeant Major LeBlanc was promoted to the rank of Gunnery Sergeant. In October 2016, Sergeant Major LeBlanc attended the Advanced Course, Staff Noncommissioned Officer Academy in Camp Lejeune North Carolina.  

In April 2017, Sergeant Major LeBlanc was selected to serve as an Assistant Marine Officer Instructor at Oregon State University. From May 2017  - August 2017, Sergeant Major LeBlanc augmented to Officer Candidate School, Quantico, Virginia where he served as a Sergeant Instructor in Company C. From June 2018 - August 2018, Sergeant Major LeBlanc again augmented Officer Candidate School, Quantico, Virginia where he served as a Platoon Sergeant in Company I. In April 2019, Sergeant Major LeBlanc was promoted to the rank of First Sergeant. From May 2019 - August 2019, Sergeant Major LeBlanc augmented Officer Candidate School, Quantico, Virginia where he served as the Company First Sergeant for Company D.

In September 2019, Sergeant Major LeBlanc received orders to India Company,  3d Battalion, 2d Marines, 2nd Marine Division. In May 2020, Sergeant Major LeBlanc deployed to Moron Spain, where he served as the Ground Combat Element, Senior Enlisted Advisor for Special Purpose Marine Air Ground Task Force, Crisis Response-Africa rotation 20.1. In February 2022, Sergeant Major LeBlanc deployed on the Unit Deployment Program rotation 22.1 to Okinawa Japan. 

In 15 December 2022, Sergeant Major LeBlanc recieved orders to Marine Raider Support Group and served as the Headquarters Company First Sergeant from 15 December 2022 - 30 November 2023.

On 1 December 2023, Sergeant Major LeBlanc was assigned to 3d Battalion, 6th Marines to serve as the Battalion Sergeant Major.

Sergeant Major LeBlanc's personal awards include the Navy and Marine Corps Commendation Medal (6th award), Navy and Marine Corps Achievement Medal, and the Military Outstanding Volunteer Service Medal.
His civilian education includes a BA degree in Criminal Justice from American Military University, is married and has 3 children.
